Water Spots (1)

For me, these days, living out here is all about the summer. I love love love the fresh mountain air, the hot summer days and the huge selection of spaces to take a dip to cool down.

I’m going to do a few posts about our favourite spots for a swim including the swimming pools in the area and the best spots for a lake swim.

Starting locally here is a bit about Forme d’O. The swimming pool in Chatel.

The swimming complex here has a large indoor pool which is open year round. The floor is graduated which is great because all children can find a point to play where they are comfortably in their depth. There are fountains and often foam slides and platforms to provide a bit of fun.

Outside (and also open year round) you’ll find another good sized pool with water jets and bubbles. Big hits with the children are the giant inflatable shark slip and slide (they will do laps!) and a splash pad with water shooters and jets from the ground which are a bit with children of all ages. There’s also a large grassy area with sun loungersmro and parasols.

The complex also has a separate pool and spa area for adults with saunas and steam rooms.

Overall, there is something for everyone at Forme d’O but the big downside is the pricing at up to €14 per adult and €10 per child. On the plus side, during the mmer months, entrance is free with a multipass πŸ˜ƒ

It’s also worth noting that (as with most French pools) board shorts are NOT allowed. If you don’t have shorty shorts with with you then buy them at one of the sports shops in town at half the price you will pay at the pool.
